MAPLE ARCH 2019 jest międzynarodowym ćwiczeniem dowódczo-sztabowym wspomaganym komputerowo, prowadzonym corocznie od 1999 roku.
W edycji-2019 biorą udział przedstawiciele Sił Zbrojnych dziewięciu państw: Kanady, Litwy, Polski, Ukrainy, Gruzji, Czarnogóry, Rumunii, Bułgarii oraz Macedonii Północnej. Głównym celem ćwiczeń jest szkolenie dowództw batalionów w zakresie planowania i prowadzenia operacji wsparcia pokoju zgodnie ze standardami NATO.
Wspólna praca stwarza wszystkim krajom możliwości współpracy, doskonalenia i dzielenia się cennymi doświadczeniami przy dalszym budowaniu naszych stosunków wojskowych – podkreśla Dowódca LITPOLUKRBIG. Podczas MAPLE ARCH 19 pułkownik Dmytro BRATISZKO pełni rolę kierownika ćwiczenia (Co-ExDir), który odpowiedzialny jest za kontrolę
i koordynację ćwiczena.
Dowództwo LITPOLUKRBRIG odgrywa zasadniczą rolę w MAPLE ARCH 19, zarówno w fazie planowania, organizowania jak również w realizacji ćwiczenia. Żołnierze trzech nacji kierują pracą kluczowych komórek i obsadzają stanowiska w kierownictwie ćwiczenia oraz HICON (dowództwa szczebla nadrzędnego – Higher Control) szczebla Brygady, którego Szefem jest pułkownik Michał MAŁYSKA. W pierwszym tygodniu Szef HICON postawił zadania podległym jednostkom inicjując tym samym proces decyzyjny (MDMP) pierwszo planowych ćwiczących (PTA). W tym roku są to: 13 batalion desantowo-szturmowy z 95 Brygady Desantowo Szturmowej z Ukrainy, 13 batalion Zmechanizowany z 1 Brygady Zmechanizowanej z Gruzji, międzynarodowy batalion z Macedonii Północnej i Czarnogóry. Ponadto
w ćwiczeniu biorą udział: batalion strzelców podhalańskich z 21 Brygady Strzelców Podhalańskich oraz batalion logistyczny, batalion saperów i kompania żandarmerii wojskowej z Ukrainy. W drugim tygodniu ćwiczenia podległe pododdziały realizują zadania z zakresu operacji wsparcia pokoju
w rejonach odpowiedzialności zgodnie z otrzymanym zadaniem.
Międzynarodowa współpraca wojskowa jest istotnym elementem współczesnego środowiska militarnego. Litewsko – Polska – Ukraińska Brygada biorąc udział w tego typu ćwiczeniach promuje motto ,,Zjednoczeni dla pokoju”.
